Our first scholarship of 2021 is going to
Shepherds Beyond Borders. This group has taken in a few medical cases already this year, some from a situation where the owner passed away and one who was found as a stray with duct tape wrapped around his leg and some sort of cord/cable around his neck. Medical situations can be expensive for small rescues and their mission statement is to help GSD’s wh
Sometimes you wonder why these dogs end up in such awful situations. A 7 month old hit by a car, run over and left at a shelter where he would surely die. A 2 month old puppy in need of emergency care, she had blood in her stool, nausea and lethargic but tested negative for Parvo twice. Thanks to
a German Shepherd Rescue that takes in mostly medical cases, these dogs will hav
Sometimes you see a post and you just feel compelled to help, such was the case with Bandit. A wonderful Rescue person received an email regarding 3 year old Bandit describing his predicament at a Florida Shelter. Bandit had been successfully adopted by a family and was fitting in fine, but when he returned to the shelter to get his microchip inserted he apparently nipped at the technician. Who
Max is still recovering from his surgery and has learned that he needs to keep calm and quiet so he can heal properly, but being a 9 month old puppy he sometimes forgets. We are sure once he is ready to be adopted he will find the perfect family because Simply Shepherds Rescue is awesome and Kathy Bartosiak the Founder is top notch and cares so much for each and every dog that she saves. The gift
took in Zion after he was found in a ditch, they believe he was hit by a car and he was unable move. After being evaluated at the ER, it was found that he was luxated at C6-7 and also had 2 pelvic fractures. Zion had surgery where they placed and cemented 4 pins in his neck. He’s not using his right front leg, which they think is more likely from some neuro damage caus
Tyson found himself at Animal Control after he was found on the side of the road, thankfully
Magnificent Mutts & Meows Rescue
was there to help! Upon their initial assessment he was not able to walk or stand, he had to be carried into the clinic. After 2 days he was still wobbly and unstable. He had been displaying some neurological signs and they thought he might be blind in both eyes, so they
When Leica’s “Saving Paws” Rescue saw a video of this guy (who they named Caspian) hobbling around and holding his back leg up from an old injury, they knew they had to help. Most likley he will need an amputation, but they are consulting with an orthopedic to be sure. Caspian, has had a sad journey so far it seems, but now he will get everything he deserves beacuse of this organization located
This sweet soul was shot in the head and left to die in a dumpster, but thankfully a Good Samaritan heard him crying and took him to a local vet office where they contacted New Beginnings Shepherd Rescue to help. Harlo is just 12 months old and even tho someone did wrong by him, this resuce is going to make it right. We are happy to lend them some support for his medical expenses and send him a
Crossroads K9 Rescue was established in 2016 all because of a dog named Bella. The founders of this organization adopted Bella and saw the need for more dogs like her to be saved and rehabilitated. In 2017, a family member was killed in the line of duty so they started another program called Crossroads K9 for Cops. This program takes dogs and trains them for departments in need, this is a one d
We posted about Lucy on Wednesday hoping we would find a foster and rescue to take her in, with so many dogs in need right now it was a big ask. We were thankful that one of the best foster homes out there reached out to us and said they would make room for her! Take The Lead Rescue was next on the list and they said yes too! The rest of the week was spent trying to facilitate getting her from
When Imminent Danger German Shepherd Rescue was asked to take not only a young pregnant female, but many others that were living in a less than perfect environment (not being fed well or enough, no clean water, internal and external parasites) of course they said yes. They have named the pregnant female Madre. Madre was taken to vet right away for care and had x-rays done, 7 sweet little babies
Lucas was saved from a Houston Shelter by Lost Ball Canine Rescue. As you can see he has mange, but he also has pneumonia so he’s having to do nebulizer treatments every 8 hours along with taking antibiotics and medicated baths. Lucas in only 6 months old and his foster mom says he is just the sweetest and doesn’t leave her side when she’s home. We sent Lucas a big box of surprises, along with

Hera was a stray from CACC that was pulled by German Shepherd Rescue, Inc. When Hera went in for a routine spay surgery they found a mass in her mouth. They had a biopsy done and it confirmed that it was cancer but they couldn’t determine if sarcoma or melanoma so they were referred to a specialist. Many tests later, x-rays, bloodwork, ultrasound and finally a CT scan they decided to go ahead w
Buzz was found on a busy highway crawling on his chest because he was unable to use his front legs properly and he was bleeding profusely. Luckily for Buzz, a nice couple saw him and stopped to help. They got him in the back of their car and brought him to a local shelter who reached out to New Beginnings Shepherd Rescue for help. It is suspected that Buzz was hit by a car and had a compound fract
Jerry is a handsome guy who joined B.A.R.K. MN awhile back.
He’s a work in progress and they are figuring out where Jerry fits in best while his foster works with him. This scholarship is for all things Jerry,
